Nombor Tiga Puluh Lapan : Bangkok/Ayutthaya Day 2 (P1)

*pardon my English. I am trying to improve myself here.

Let's continue to Day 2 in Bangkok.

That morning, we packed our things up and get ready for the next adventure (konon)! We were going to Ayutthaya by train! Yes, by train in a foreign country! Can you say, no? :P

Oh, as we got back from Asiatique, we got a dorm-mate from Germany! Yeay!

With Patricia before we checked out of from the hostel
We had our morning coffee at the terrace before we made a move.  Ah, I miss the place already!

Drawn by Adila :D

She's specialising in kitchen design, btw. Hope this explains the picture.

The road not taken

Hualamphong train station

We bought the tickets 10mins before boarding. We were rushing like mad the the platform, no time for pictures. Tskk. But I kinda like the atmosphere there, it's so classic yet interesting. But no time for picture, sadz.
THB20/person for 3rd class train. It's free seating, btw.

This is how 3rd class coach looks like

The journey took us 2 hours plus. It was an interesting journey, I enjoyed the scenery very much! Somehow, it reminds me of Kedah. God knows how much I love Kedah :D Keri slept almost half of the journey while Adila and I were busy enjoying the train ride. I just had to be alert since I did not know the route of the train and I was scared if we passed by the station without knowing. Haha!

We passed by small stations and I did enjoy myself observing the locals while others went to their la-la land.

Battle of the trains. LOL

Welcome to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya train station. So classic, just the way I like it!

Studying the map looking for direction to the guesthouse

We reached Ayutthaya around 12.30pm (GMT+7). We did not book any hostel yet and decided to look for one once we arrive. Oh Adila bought a simcard with the internet plan at the airport. The prepaid costs her around THB450/RM45. Here was the part when we need the internet. Keri and Adila was googling the map to the hostel. We had been asking around but no one knows the location. And we went to the nearest 7E asking for direction (favorite part). The people there were so helpful. They tried hard to help us. While Keri was busy explaining to them, I was busy enjoying the AC. It was an extremely hot day, plus we walked a lot!

The railway station and the so called Ayutthaya town is separated by Chao Phraya river. There are 2 ways to cross the river, by boat or by crossing the bridge. Then we decided to go to the other side by boat. The 10mins ride costs us THB4/RM0.40 :D

The jetty to the other side of Ayutthaya

The boat hehe

Our chaperon at the town of Ayutthaya

Again, we stopped by the nearest 7E and asking for the direction. After 15mins of walking, we found the Ayutthaya Guesthouse! And thank god there were 2 rooms available for us. 1 room costs us around THB200/RM20/night. I shared the room with Adila, so it costs us THB100/RM10/person. So yeay! And Keri got a whole room to himself. Since our room was not ready yet, we hijacked Keri's. He was willingly let us use his room first to rest while he went downstairs. After Zuhr, we joined him with our humble lunch, serunding and white bread!

Our guesthouse. It was so classic, I like that!

You have to put the coin first to use the pc. Classic much, huh?

The hostel owner suggested we join the sunset tour to see Ayutthaya. It was a boat ride along Chao Phraya River. The tour costs around THB150/RM15/person for 3 hours and a tuktuk fetched us in front of the hostel. So, we agreed!

.
To be continued.
